Orange the Kākā - badge

$25.00

Meet Orange. If you’re looking for a full-on whirlwind of trouble, this is the kākā for you. Part of a foursome of chicks that came to us for hand-rearing as part of Project Janszoon, Orange was a standout mischief maker. Escaping from his enclosure? Check. Biting through the electronic scales cord? Check. Making Dr. Lizzie climb a highly questionable tower of chairs to retrieve him from the top of a cupboard? No, we don’t know what you’re talking about. Don’t tell the health and safety officer.

Orange and his squad went through their awkward teenage stage with us, then went on to absolutely demolish their pre-release aviary at the Dunedin Botanic Garden.

Orange is available in keychain and badge styles.

Keychains are 30mm x 40mm. Badges are 30mm in diameter.

Each item is laser cut and etched on highly renewable bamboo, then hand painted with NZ-made, plant-based Natural Paint Co colours, all right here in Ōtepoti Dunedin, the wildlife capital of New Zealand.

If you’re lucky, you’ll spot Orange in Abel Tasman National Park. You’ll know him by the trail of destruction left in his wake.
