FB3A the Hoiho Chick - badge

$25.00

Meet FB3A, a gloriously fuzzy hoiho chick who came for a stay at our Broken Penguin Retreat in 2019. This fluffy charmer arrived underweight for its age and susceptible to disease. Hatched at a top secret site on Muaupoko Otago Peninsula, its mum and dad were struggling to find enough kai during a mass seabird starvation event.

FB3A spent a week with us fattening up on fish smoothie and salmon smoult before heading to rehab at Penguin Place Conservation Reserve. Definitely leader of the pack while in Hospital, FB3A found time during its brief stay to star in a documentary TV show, Wildlife Rescue NZ, and to perfect the art of playing with rosemary enrichment toys.

FB3A is available in keychain and badge styles.

Keychains are 30mm x 40mm. Badges are 30mm in diameter.

Each item is laser cut and etched on highly renewable bamboo, then hand painted with NZ-made, plant-based Natural Paint Co colours, all right here in Ōtepoti Dunedin, the wildlife capital of New Zealand.

FB3A was soft released at Penguin Place, and is no doubt living its best life foraging for fish and cultivating its own patch of rosemary.
