Since opening in January 2018, we’ve treated more than 300 penguin patients. Most of these have been the very rare yellow-eyed penguin, as well as Fiordland-crested, erect-crested, snares-crested and little blue penguins. With your help, we can maintain our extremely high success rate, returning 84 per cent of these amazing creatures to the wild. We also treat other seabirds, including a few species of protected gulls, and even the occasional royal albatross.
